LEO a new collection designed by Daria Zinovatnaya
LEO is the first collection that Adrenalina launches for 2020. Composed of sofa and armchair, it is designed by the very young St. Petersburg designer Daria Zinovatnaya with whom she continues the successful collaboration started in 2019 with Roche and Mercury.
The LEO collection is based on a soul that recovers the essential elements of the Russian avant-garde of the early 20th century, from which it draws concepts and colours, updating them in a modern vision of the furnishing object.
The play of full and empty spaces of the LEO sofa lightens the visual impact and draws the eye to investigate the shapes in detail, with a pinch of curiosity.
The rigorous geometries, materials and colours chosen by Daria Zinovatnaya for LEO retrace typical traits of constructivism, which alternated physical materials, which can be found in the iron supporting structure, with intellectual materials, from which the use of colour is drawn, freely bordering on a supremacist conception, with geometric shapes bordering on the abstract. Simple and rigorous forms, easily readable, that transmit a strong conceptuality, and at times drag him towards a postmodernism that is so reminiscent of Italy in the 1980s with the experiments of the Memphis collective.
LEO, however, remains strongly anchored to typically Soviet colour palettes, and expresses its essence with intensity and uniqueness, a true tribute to three posters that coexist in perfect harmony and meet space for expression in an Italian design brand that from the very beginning has been a spokesman for a desire to break into the world of upholstered furniture.
Daria Zinovantaya reconfirms her love for the encounter between geometric rigor and chromatic involvement, between the solidity of rigid materials and the softness of ductile materials, with a touch of surprise where less expected.
Daria Zinovatnaya was born in the Crimea in Simferopol in 1992 and lives in St. Petersburg. Since early childhood she has cultivated her passion for design. She attended art school, then the Academy of Architecture and soon after she started to express herself with her design projects. The basis of his work is colour and geometry and, in particular, the combination of colour planes. Known for her iconic furniture, objects and interiors inspired by postmodern design, Daria is a furniture and interior designer and a well-known influencer on Instagram.
