Isola Design District

Isola Design District is the first curated platform dedicated to international emerging designers and independent design studios, with a focus on innovation, sustainability and biomaterials.

Next to the Milanese contemporary architectural excellences such as Piazza Gae Aulenti, Unicredit Tower and Bosco Verticale, there is a heritage of hidden places, an incredible landscape of possibilities: a neighborhood called Isola.

It’s here that Isola Design District has born, four years ago, and immediately became one of the main official areas of Milan Design Week, for giving visibility to local artisans, studios and galleries, but also to create opportunities for international emerging designers and independent studios, during the most important design event of the World.

Since last year, Isola Design District is also part of the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven, becoming the first Italian design district to participate in a foreign design event.

Finally, to react positively to the COVID19 consequences like the cancelation of Milan Design Week 2020, the organization has worked on a digital platform that aims to showcase a curated selection of designers and their projects, share the latest design news, host Virtual Reality exhibitions, organize online events and much more.

A new way to experience design, accessible 365 days a year and from anywhere, that will complement the physical events in Italy and in the Netherlands.
