Gebrüder Thonet Vienna presents Nyny, Peers, Sugiloo and Sölden
For Artemest Virtual Craft Week, Gebrüder Thonet Vienna GmbH (GTV) introduces their new 2020 collections: the Jannis upholstered collection by Dainelli Studio, the first collaboration with the brand, the Peers tables by Front that reconfirm the relationship with GTV, NYNY collection, inspired by New York City and the 80s, the Sölden Chair and Sugiloo. Taken together, the 2020 new products are refined expressions of the design versatility that is a distinctive feature of Gebrüder Thonet Vienna today, a brand characterised by a unique heritage that marked the crucial transition from handicraft to industrial production.
The Peers collection includes two tables, elements designed in pairs but also perfect used individually, ideal in the living area or in the bedroom as bedside tables. With a characteristic contoured shape, they have a colored laminate top with solid wood edge while the structure is enriched by the wooden ring, a structural element that incorporates the typical support circles of the classic bent wood chairs.
The Jannis Collection was created in collaboration with Dainelli Studio and consists in upholstered furniture. Jannis is defined by a contemporary rigour that draws inspiration from the past.
NYNY collection is characterized by materials such as wood and Vienna straw. The multifaceted design by storagemilano, with its versatile personality, draws inspiration from the typical postmodernist styles and the graphic playfulness of the eighties.
The Sölden line is a fascinating project that is the result of a continuous investigation into the long tradition of bent wood: a seat that pays homage to the stylistic codes typical of the ’30s.
Sugiloo collection, designed by Michael Anastassiades, is defined by a rigorous style, with a structure pure and essential: the light is given by the encounter of curves that, like the stroke of a pencil on the sheet, draw seat, backrest and armrests
