Interview with Hervé Lemoine
Hervé Lemoine is the director of the Mobilier national and the manufactures of Gobelins, Beauvais and Savonnerie.
The mission of the Mobilier national, is to ensure the conservation and restoration of its collections, yesterday in the royal and imperial residences, today in the official palaces of the Republic. These collections are made up of more than 130,000 movable or textile objects.
The National Furniture and National Manufactures departments embody the prestige of French tradition, the excellence of exceptional know-how and the vitality of artistic creation and contemporary design.
Hervé Lemoine undertook to awaken the Mobilier National by participating in Heritage Days and the following year at the FIAC, and by committing himself to publishing. A turning point that allows "to democratise design but also to better respond to public orders and to follow the evolution of the taste for contemporary design" while reaping royalties on sales and offering a showcase for the Mobilier National.
