Designers Andrea De Carvalho
Andrea de Carvalho is a Brazilian artist who has been living and working in Italy since1991. She enjoys using different materials, creating installations and works in which she combines ceramics, iron, paint and objetstrouvés. She studied at the German "Waldorf" School in São Paulo and moved to Paris in 1986, where she studied fashion design and history of fashion. In 1989, after graduating from the "École des arts de la mode Jeoffrin Byrs", she returned to São Paulo and started to paint. Andrea de Carvalho became the assistant of Italo-Brazilian painter Gaetano Miani, until she moved to Italy in 1991. Once in Italy she developed an interest in ceramics, and continues to experiment with new colours, in line with her quest as an artist. She enjoys using different materials, creating installations and works in which she combines iron, ceramics, paint and objets trouvés. She lives and works in Italy. In 2010 the artist exhibited at the 3rd Malindi Biennale, curated by Achille Bonito Oliva. In 2011 she was invited to the 54th Venice Biennale. In 2012-2013 she took part in the 4th Malindi Biennale curated by Achille Bonito Oliva. Andrea de Carvalho has been collaborating with the Galleria Paola Colombari of Milan since 2013 and has participated in some important exhibitions such as MiART Milan (Italy), Arte Fiera Bologna (Italy), Wopart Fair - Lugano (Switzerland), Nomad St. Moritz (Switzerland) – Mia Photo Fair , Milan (Italy).
