Designers Bohyung Koh
Bohyung Koh(b.1962) majored in metal craft and moved to Germany in 1994 to continue his work and studies. Although Koh mainly crafts items found in our daily life such as the spoon, ladle, kettle, flower vase and candle stick, he incorporates his own experience and considers the usage of the object to create his works. His forging technique primarily involves flattening of metal to create shape and through this process the object thins and hardens, whereby the intrinsic elasticity is preserved for a long time. The metal’s material characteristics and structural aesthetic qualities are transferred to the daily life and his works convey Koh’s distinctive aesthetic sense and wit.
